No one doubts Uber’s success, growing at a rapid rate in countries across the globe. Several countries would like a share in Uber’s success. One such country is India. A service tax for Uber users will go into effect on March 1st, 2015.
The change requires Uber to collect and remit service taxes to the Indian government. A service tax percentage will be added to the total bill. Uber will be responsible for remitting these service taxes to the Indian government. Uber is one of many “disruptive” companies that must pay the new service tax rate of 14%.
